Reports of the Commissioners Submitted to the Supreme Court

The Commissioners present periodic reports to the Supreme Court. These typically deal, first and foremost, with the implementation of Supreme Court orders. In addition these reports attempt to highlight issues that need further directions from the Court. These are based on extensive correspondence with governments, reports from the Commissioners’ Advisors, interaction with citizens’ organisations, and field visits made by the Commissioners. So far, seven reports and a few interim reports have been submitted. They are a rich source of information on the food situation in India, the implementation of interim orders, the functioning of various schemes, and so on. The reports also include detailed recommendations to the Court.
